Linda S. Melancon, the owner of the Legacy Center of Louisiana, LLC, is committed to living out the principles expressed in one of her favorite Bible verses. That commitment is evidenced daily in the way she treats her clients and others that she comes into contact with in her law practice. Realizing that she cannot accomplish her vision without the help of a great team, she has surrounded herself with employees who are equally committed to putting the interests of others above their own and to treating others with respect and courtesy.

Ms. Melancon graduated magna cum laude from Mercer University with a double major in business administration and history. She later attended Louisiana State University Law School where she received her Juris Doctor degree in 1997. While in law school, Ms. Melancon received the Order of the Coif award for graduating in the top 10% of her class, served as a member of the Louisiana Law Review, and received the CALI award for attaining the highest grade in her Business Associations class.

Ms. Melancon is a member of the Trusts, Estates, Probate and Immovable Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Elder Law Task Force, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, and is the President of the River Parish Estate Planning Council. She is also accredited by the VA to assist veterans in the presentation and prosecution of claims for veteran’s benefits.

Also very active in the community, Ms. Melancon is a member of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce, the East Ascension Rotary Club and River Community Church. Ms. Melancon regularly presents educational seminars for the public, as well as private groups, on subjects relating to estate planning, elder law and probate.

She is married to Michael Melancon, Sr. and they have 3 children, Michael, Jr., Jennifer and Sara. She also has 2 grandchildren and another on the way.
